Theme is the institution's brand palette — the colors that drive every dashboard, the studio chrome, and the audit PDF cover. Save with every section blank ⇒ theme clears and the bundled DEFAULT_PRESET takes over.

The form below decomposes ThemePreset (common/l2/theme.py) into per-field controls. Required: theme_name + version_description + at least one data_colors entry + empty_fill_color + gradient (low/high hex pair). The UI palette groups by purpose — surfaces+text, brand, state colours, chart-axis chips — with pair-previews showing the actual bg/fg combo so contrast issues surface before deploy.

Essentials

Most institutions only need the essentials below. Advanced controls available for fine-tuning.

Colour used when a chart cell has no data.
Light end of the heatmap gradient.

Page backgrounds + body text. Every panel / card across QS dashboards, the studio chrome, and the audit PDF reads from these. secondary_bg lives in Essentials above.

accent_fg is the text colour ON accent backgrounds (white-on-accent buttons). link_tint is the pale-accent wash used as the background for right-click-drill table cells. The accent colour itself lives in Essentials above.

UI palette — state colours

Three state pairs — danger (errors, breach indicators), warning (heads-up signals), success (positive-delta / closed-clean indicators). Each pair pre-previews the bg + fg combo: aim for AA contrast minimum.
